In 2025 we launched Scinary Connect as an add-on platform that extended Centurion’s monitoring capabilities into the cloud, pulling in Google Workspace, O365, and Windows Defender for Endpoint logs. This gave our 24/7/365 security operations teams increased visibility and more response capabilities for cloud-based threats. However, we didn’t want to stop there. Scinary Connect was always meant for more than just Google and Microsoft. It was the underlying technology built into Centurion allowing us to integrate with a plethora of services. As such, we are excited to announce the next addition to the Scinary Connect list of integrations.
This integration allows Centurion to add the telemetry produced by the firewall to its monitoring capabilities. We built the alerting for this integration specifically around the observed tactics, techniques, and procedures of threat actors. Allowing us, once again, to increase the SOC’s visibility and perform additional actions to secure our clients.
But that isn’t all, Scinary services over 280 public institutions across the United States. We have a unique perspective into the threats that target education and local government. So, we have also put together a managed blocklist that integrates seamlessly with FortiGate firewalls. This list is being regularly updated by our SOC teams using the threat intelligence we collect from robust, industry specific, resources. No longer do our SOC teams have to ask you to block an IP or domain, if you have Scinary Connect we can save precious minutes and handle it for you!
If you are already a Scinary Connect customer, all you need to do is reach out to us, and we can get this configured for you. If you would like to know more about this new service feel free to schedule a call with us or send us an email to contact@scinary.com.
While pulling in telemetry and having a blocklist is a big enough boon, we know that firewalls are complex security tools and can be a pain to manage. Especially, when you’re dealing with all the other difficulties of managing a network or an end user complaining that their monitor isn’t working… because it isn’t plugged in. Our sympathies.
That’s where Scinary’s new managed firewall service came from. As mentioned above, firewalls are security tools, so it makes sense to us that we should help our customers manage them. This allows you to spend less time scrounging through records, and more time ensuring that the rest of the network is running smoothly.
You could also use the time to help end users who have put in their fifth ticket about the same something not working. Okay, that may not be the most fun option. So, let’s say this new service gives you back some much-needed time.
We also want to mention that our management is on the same standard of service you expect from Scinary, meaning white glove service no matter what your organization’s size. As always, you maintain access to your equipment. We don’t take over and lock you out like other security organizations do. At Scinary, we believe we work better as a team, not as tyrants.
We believe with the combination of Scinary Connect for FortiGate and the firewall management service we can massively increase our SOC’s ability to respond to threats while continuing to provide the service you’ve come to expect.
